Chris-Mass in the MCU

Maybe previously they were known as ‘Hollywood Chrises’ or the ‘Chrisening of Hollywood’, but now, let’s be more specific - specifically we can relate them all to the MCU.

So first up, former Captain of the main focuses in the MCU: of course, Steve Rogers played by Chris Evans. Though chronologically he is in the first movie to do with the Avengers and the foundation of the MCU, he wasn’t in the first chronological content (Agent Carter Series) or the first released content (Iron Man). Also the heart of the Avengers, and pretty big with the offence against HYDRA operatives who’d been based in SHIELD for a while - much of that story is told in Agents of SHIELD and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Next up Thor Odinson, brother of Loki (no spoilers here!), son of Odin aka the Australian Chris Hemsworth. One of the Big Six, too. One of the strongest Avengers. A personal weapon to his name, with a name, which only a few can pick up. Somehow more jacked than Cap 🤯. Able to summon thunder and lightning, and a romance story with a 'mere earthling'. What's not to love? Plus he's even got connections to Agents of SHIELD in the form of Lady Sif, and seeing as after the first 1 or 2 seasons, SHIELD basically ignores the rest of the MCU and vice versa, that makes Hemsworth's character 10x better, IMO.

Now, exiting the mainstream Marvel Heroes, and into a different sector: Guardians of the Galaxy. Indeed, Chris Pratt who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord. Though the Guardians of the Galaxy may not have been as large fictionally (on Earth) and financially as the Avengers, they were, as the name suggests, defending a larger ‘kingdom’ than ‘Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’, and therefore still got to play a part in the war on Thanos, which unfortunately the same cannot be said for the Inhumans, Cloak + Dagger, The Defenders, etc.... As I always have thought, had every single ‘Goodie’ within the MCU come together, Thanos may well have been stopped sooner, or even stopped from gaining all of the Infinity Stones in the first place.

Moving onto the final 'Chris' listed within this article, maybe the least known one here: Chris Pine lending his voice to Peter Parker as part of Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse. Here is a review and a trailer below, since I haven't yet watched the movie myself, and so am unable to provide detailed, authentic insight.

Thank you very much for reading this article on the MCU load of Chrises, and I hope you check out others on my blog site.
