So, if you're reading this, you either hate K-pop or you absolutely love it. I fall into the latter category - but before you stop reading, hear me out.
Why do people never shut up about those seven Korean dudes who've topped charts everywhere and spoken at the UN? Because they (or we) have been absolutely dumbfounded by their top class singing, dancing and all-round behaviour. Obviously I just referred to BTS since they are the most well-known seven-member Korean artists out there. But if you don't like BTS, there are so many more bands and solo artists: you could try listening to Stray kids, TXT or Blackpink.
Language barrier. If the reason you refuse to listen to K-pop is the language barrier, I wouldn't fret over it. Let's take a trip down memory lane.
Welcome to 2013. Hits of the year include Count On Me - Bruno Mars and Rap God - Eminem. Oh and I can't forget Gangnam Style, K-pop. Are you shocked now? The song we all sang and danced to was in fact a song from Korean artist PSY. Did the language barrier stop you then? I highly doubt it. Then why should it now?
I'm no miracle worker, so I'm aware that there's no way I can get you all to become K-Pop stans over-night. But I can at least try right?
So, in the same way that your mate forced you into listening to your current favourite band for the first time, I WANT YOU TO LISTEN TO SOME K-POP IN YOUR PREFERRED GENRE. If you don't like it, you can ignore everything I said, but if you do...
